Meet Allison
MS Clinical Mental Health Counseling
BS Human Nutrition & Food

It’s time to try something different.

I’m a United States-based recovery coach specializing in eating disorders, body image, & neurodivergence.

I want you to truly hear this:

Adding more help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a testament to your hope.

The core of my approach to coaching is the belief that everyone can find recovery.

The gold standard for eating disorder treatment has not changed since 1981 with the introduction of CBT-E. This treatment modality missed large populations of people who struggle with eating disorders. It misses the human experience of living in a world where access to food is not equal, stores with equitable clothing sizes are not a guarantee, and people who profit off of hating ourselves have (seemingly) unlimited funds to remind us how worthless we are.

My coaching practice believes that health is not a moral obligation, fatness is not a failure, medical research has a long way to go to be equitable, and you can find your meaningful life regardless of your weight, shape, or size.

How I work

Central to my coaching approach is that everyone has the right to bodily autonomy.

The rise of “thinspo” and weight loss medication has made recovery and embracing body liberation feel impossible. I meet you where you and your team are and continue to find small shifts we can make today to get you closer to your definition of recovery. It is not my job to define that for you and I will help sort out what recovery means to you.

If the idea of body liberation feels too far out of reach, that’s okay! You didn’t come into this world hating your body. It was learned, which means it can be unlearned. Along side of that, I do not believe that eating is intuitive for everyone and that you are broken if eating has always been a struggle. Interruptions with hunger cues, sensory sensitivities, and early feeding complications could have made intuitive eating feel beyond your grasp. That’s why you get to define what recovery means to you. Let’s figure it out together.

Coaching with me is…

01Honest

Eating disorders require shame and secrecy to thrive. In this space, I will be kindly and compassionately honest and hope to foster an environment that allows you to be honest as well (even if it is messily honest at first).

02Collaborative

Working closely with a team is ideal. I do not work with people who do not have a team or are not willing to establish a team at haste.

03Active

Coaching is not a passive activity. We will be working on the goals we have created and exploring barriers as they come up. Progress can be slow-moving and messy and it will be progress.

04Individualized

We work on your goals. You want to challenge a fear food, great! You want to bring up a conversation with your therapist, amazing! You want to reduce the times you step on the scale, I’ve got you.
